Opening of a Torah Scroll

Are you interested in seeing first-hand an authentic Torah scroll written in Hebrew which covers the first five books of the Old Testament?  In this incredible class, we will discuss how a Torah scroll is made, how it is cared for, when it is used, and other Jewish traditions.  We will then carefully unroll an ancient Torah scroll and read a very important passage of the Bible together. Dr. Mark Kelley (New Hope Academic Dean), Jan Kelley (New Hope Librarian) and Dr. Lynn Jacobson (New Hope Old Testament Instructor) will be our presenters on Sun, Sept 17 in Room 103 at 10:00 – 11:00 am and again at 11:30 am – 12:30 pm
